Radial Timbers New 100% Plantation Grown Cladding

Radial Timber has entered an exciting time in our history as we commence production of durable and high
value timber products from our own Australian, plantation grown hardwoods.

We are currently producing our first 100% plantation grown timber cladding using Southern Gippsland
Blue Gum (Eucalyptus Globulus). Native to Southern Victoria, Tasmania and the Bass Strait Islands,
Southern Gippsland Blue Gum has been planted extensively around the world. Its uses in Australia have
been primarily for paper manufacturing, however in Europe it has been used for fine timber products for
over 50 years. By implementing careful plantation management practices such as thinning and pruning,
combined with our unique radial sawmilling process, this beautiful wood is now available as a high value
timber cladding product here in Australia

Southern Gippsland Blue Gum is a beautiful light blonde to brown coloured timber with grey and pink tinges. The grain is interlocked and has an even texture, some features include gum vein and fire streak.

Currently available in two sizes; Unseasoned, rough sawn 75x25mm and 100x25mm.

Our vision is to achieve complete self-sufficiency by cultivating our own saw log plantations of durable hardwood in Gippsland. Since 2004, we have been implementing a plan to establish a minimum of 2,000 hectares of native hardwood plantations, and we continue to plant and manage these areas each year with the plan to have a 30 year rotation.

With native forestry in Victoria now closed, the timber production industry stands at a critical juncture. We view this as a significant opportunity for innovation and forward-thinking in the sector. Our goal is to keep producing the timber products Australians value, utilising the most sustainable practices available. While plantation timber cultivation and production presents various challenges and uncertainties, our focus will be on understanding its advantages in every design and build.
